LISA is a non-partisan organization created by entrepreneurs from around the world interested in attracting and helping promising entrepreneurs create high-growth companies and help them with entry into a global market in particular, the US market.
LISA, which stands for Levant International Startup Association, launches November 20th at the Banque du Liban (“BDL”) Accelerate Conference in Lebanon. Lebanon will be the first country to pilot the program in 2015. The goal is to perfect the model for operation in Lebanon and expand to Syria, Turkey, Jordan and Palestine.
LISA was inspired by and hopes to work closely with Circular No. 331 a $400 million dollar investment issued by the Central Bank of Lebanon (BDL) to help fund startups and innovative Lebanese companies who are creating jobs for the country gain access to international markets.
Mark Haidar, Lebanese-American entrepreneur and cofounder of LISA is in Beirut this week, along with cofounder Scott Harper, an American entrepreneur to make this exciting announcement.
